Florida Music Ambassadors Audition Requirements
All eligible, interested musicians must submit an application and video for review. Each video should be no longer than 10 minutes in length and should begin by stating your name, school name, director name, and solo / etude title being performed. Recordings should be made with no added filtering or effects. The video will be uploaded to the online application. (CDs or DVDs cannot be accepted.)
After the video submissions have been reviewed, all applicants will receive an e-mail with the results. Please understand that we would love to accept everyone; however, spots are limited for this international performance opportunity.
Video Upload Instructions:
Save the video to your computer. At the bottom of the application click the "Browse Files" button in the Audition Video Upload section. Select your recording and it will be upload automatically. Your video title will appear below the "Browse Files" button. You may use video formats: AVI, FLV, WMV, MP4, or MOV.
Audition Requirements - Instrumental
Woodwind and Brass
Video audition music should demonstrate your technical and lyrical abilities (1-2 minutes of etudes or solo excerpts), two 2-octave scales of your choosing, and chromatic scale demonstrating your practical range. Please select a solo or etudes that demonstrate your technical skills, as well as your range on the instrument. You may perform unaccompanied or use an accompanist or Smart Music if you choose. A clear video recording from a smartphone is acceptable.
You will be evaluated on your: tone quality, note & rhythmic accuracy, intonation, musicality, style, and accuracy/facility of your scales.
Percussion must perform a solo or etude on mallets, the approved snare etude and 2 scales (2 octaves) in the Florida All-State format. The mallet etude / solo must be a minimum of 2 minutes and no longer than 5 minutes in length. You may choose any musical selection, Grade 3 or above. Pick a solo that displays your technical skills. You may perform unaccompanied or use an accompanist or Smart Music if you choose. A clear video recording from a smartphone is acceptable
You will be evaluated on your: tone quality, note & rhythmic accuracy, musicality, style, and accuracy of your scales.
Snare Etude: You may download the approved etude to perform or choose one of the Florida All State audition etudes.

Audition Requirements - Choir
Each individual recording should consist of:
The student clearly speaking their name and voice part.
Choir students must submit a Classical vocal solo in the state FVA Solo & Ensemble style and a 20 second vocalise from the Florida ACDA style. The solo must be a minimum of 2 minutes and no longer than 8 minutes in length.
A 20 second vocalise of your choice, should demonstrate the singer’s range and tone quality; please vocalize using these ranges:
